Bob Massey spoke at the Gulf Coast Writers Association meeting in Ft. Myers today.

Among the things he spoke about was this tidbit I took away: “If ‘better’ is an option, then ‘good’ isn’t good enough.”

Well said.

Someone tweeted a quote the other day that I locked into my phone as a reminder:

On Saturday I found out someone I cared a lot about had died.  On Sunday morning, I wrote about him on my personal blog.

On Sunday night, someone else he knew found that blog, and on Monday morning (this morning) I had an e-mail from her, telling me how touched she was to read it, and how it put into words what she was feeling, but couldn’t communicate.

And that?  That’s why I do this.
